PHS Trustee Tom Norton, chairman of the event, says shoppers will be amazed at the quantity and quality of the hundreds of vintage books and collector’s items for sale.

All books have been donated to the not for profit museum, and 100% of the money made from the sale will help cover the operating expenses of the free admission, barrier free museum.
Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult.

“PRESERVING THE PAST FOR THE FUTURE AWARD”
Sunday, June 2 – 2:00
The first annual Pascack Historical Society “Preserving the Past for the Future Award (PPFFA) will be presented to Hillsdale Police Sergeant Sean Smith at a short ceremony on Sunday, June 2 at 2:00. The award recognizes Sgt. Smith for his research and authorship of a 400 page, full color, hard cover book – The History of the Hillsdale Police Department, 1898-1979.
You are invited to join us at this important and happy event. Coffee, cake and an Ice Cream Social (do it yourself) will follow the presentation.

“STITCH IN TIME”
Beginning Sunday, June 16
The 1842 cross-stitch on linen sampler show below, along with three others
from the museum’s collection, have just been restored and reframed thanks to a grant from the Bergen County’s Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs.
The samplers and accoutrements of this old craft will be on display in Berdais Hall commencing on June 16. Come see “Stitch in Time” and learn about this lovely lost art form any Wednesday between 10:00 and noon or any Sunday between 1:00 and 4:00.
Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult.
A LOOK AHEAD
Sunday, June 30 – 2:00 – “Gettysburg: 150 Years Later” – Dr. Anthony Troncone, head of Dominican College History Department, will give a talk about the Battle of Gettysburg and its lasting effects on the nation.
Thursday, Aug. 8 – 10:00-1:00 – “Stones & Bones” – Simulated archaeological dig for children entering Grades 2-6 in September.
$10.00 per child ($5.00 for members).
